"BSU at the fair is an immersive learning project coordinated by BSU Journalism professor, Colleen Steffen and BSU Graphic Design professor, Ryan Sparrow. The duo select [exceptional] students as writers, designers, photographers, videographers and PR to represent Ball State at the Indiana State Fair.
The class began as a project to give students real life experience in their respective fields with guidance from Sparrow and Steffen. Content is produced by writers, photographers, videographers and designers, packaged by PR and then picked up by news affiliates. The class is now an experience of professionalism and fun as the students write about the Indiana fair’s oddities, whether it be the SPAM contest or fried insects, from inside a trailer. "
